When do you normally sing in a funeral?
For church funerals singing can be included when people are coming in, as the funeral procession enters the church, as part of the service such as a Psalm, communal singing of one or two hymns, at the final commendation, and as the funeral procession leaves.
Music for cremations is very much a matter of personal choice, within the time allocated (usually 30 minutes). At cremations, funeral songs are appropriate when the funeral procession arrive, as a solo during the service, one of two hymns, at the committal, and as friends and family leave the crematorium.

Do I need to book an organist to accompany my funeral singer?
We can perform with any competent organist or pianist, but this is not always possible or feasible in small country churches or at crematoriums. So, we also use our own professionally recorded accompaniments (backing tracks), some of which have been recorded exclusively for Singers for Funerals. These can be uploaded for any crematorium using the Wesley Music system, or played through our own discreet, high quality speaker system.

Who organises the music for a funeral?
When a family member or funeral director calls us, your funeral singer will discuss ideas for suitable music that has significance for both the family and the guests. Hampshire Funeral Singers will then liaise with the organist or pianist (if any), or select quality backing tracks from our library.
